London on the way to Lusaka, Zambia

Its 11:53am on Friday, May 29 in London.  I’m sitting in the airport waiting for our 7.05pm flight to Lusaka, Zambia.   My son Mark and his cousin (same age) Stephen are lying on the airport floor beside my seat sleeping.  They stayed up all night on the flight over.

Our flight from Miami left last night at 5:40pm and arrived in London this morning around 7:40am London time.  Everything went well – I even got a few hours of sleep.

One thing that worked for me last year with jet lag was to "live into the next time zone."  In other words, as soon as I get on the plane, I adjust my watch – and my schedule to live according to the time where we’re going.  The difference between Miami and London is 5 hours – so I switched my watch ahead to 10:40 when we left Miami, watched one movie on the flight then went to sleep.  Since I didn’t get a full nights rest, I finished it with another couple hours on the airport benches this morning.

It’s not a bad airport as far as stuff to keep you amused – They are having a raffle for a Lamborghini and a Maserati!  That St. Mark’s money is tempting.  Let’s see, how many $100 raffle tickets could I get for that?  Not enough, I decide.

All different languages and colors of people all around me.  A lady from Dallas explaining to a lady in a turban the difference between Washington and Washington, D.C. is just a small example of that.  Airports are a fun place to people watch

We miss you already!!! (Big Sigh) Well I have good news and bad news. The Bad news first. I do have a spot of some nature on my brain. It will require attention and watching. The Doctors feel it is (most likely) from a hemorrhage in my brain. There will be another run of tests in two months.

Now the good news, Your prayers have worked. The doctors feel that I do not have a cancer in my head, (Another longer sigh) Or anything at this moment that requires surgery. Praise God!!

The leg from which this all started, was hair lined fractured just below the junction of the rods and bone. And the test showed a heavy upswing in the arthritis over most of my body. Also the Bone scan showed I had major acute arthritis now in both knees, thus the swelling, and the arthritis has moved into most bones and joints including my shoulders and spine.
But All in all I am relieved. Once again God has proven what a wonderful and caring God he is!

Please know there is no way I can thank you enough for being there for me, your love and support helped me once again to make it through a very hard time in my life. I am so grateful to God for you and our church family.. I do not know what I ever did to deserve your friendship, love and support. I love you, Gloria
